Swedish textile designer Cathy Nordström creates a small collection for Hums infused with color and pattern

Slippers are such a great way to show off your personality or mood for the day, you can tone it down or dial it up, says Cathy Nordström.

Introducing a small capsule collection celebrating Cathy’s love for color, pattern and accessories.

Cathy Nordström is Swedish textile designer known for her colorful and contemporary patterned handprinted fabrics and wallpapers. She’s a real homebody and loves everything with a story, preferably a patterned one. And she loves slippers.

"I have always loved to accessorize, both when it comes to interior design and fashion. With small means you can really show off your personality or mood for the day, you can tone it down or dial it up. The details matter. Both my husband and I have been fans of Hums for years so I relished at the opportunity to design for them! Designing slippers for Hums allowed me to use my patterns in a more extravagant way and I absolutely loved it. To design with new materials and a totally different product in mind was liberating and I just love how the embroidery brought a new, tactile dimension to my work.”

“I’m a very homey person, I love spending time at home with my family and friends. Slippers are always part of it, I can’t walk around in just socks. And I rarely wear heels, I’m a sneakers and flats girl. So when we started discussing what kind of collection I wanted to design I knew that I wanted it to be something special I could wear at home and to a dinner party. I wanted it to be fun, quirky and unapologetic. Something Iris Apfel would wear! A celebration of getting together with loved ones for any occasion, says Cathy Nordström.

The new collection features two unique designs that showcase Cathy’s love for pattern and color. Our slippers are made of high-quality materials and hav a comfortable and durable sole.

Customers can choose between two different unique designs. A bold slipper in red suede with pink and purple floral embroidery and a loafer with a multicolored star pattern embroidered with gold thread on black suede.
